On behalf of fellow architects from Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA), I would like to invite architects from ARCASIA member countries as well as non-member countries to Kathmandu to participate in the ARCASIA 2013 this October. SONA represents community of architects in Nepal, which currently has about 600 members, and is growing at the rate of 100 members per year based on about 200 architects graduating every year in Nepal and an estimated 25 Nepali architects graduating from universities abroad. Though we are a small community of architects in a small country, we are eager to welcome as many of you who can make it to Kathmandu in October. Kathmandu today represents not only the seven world heritage sites and numerous other historic and cultural sites, it also represents a growing urban center in the foothills of the great Himalayan range. In that context which is akin to many other Asian cities, we have much more to discuss about our architecture, urbanism and our professional responsibilities. I, therefore, urge you all to consider actively participating in ARCASIA 2013. I look forward to welcoming you all in Kathmandu in October.
